Author Visit- Katie Zhao- 3rd-5th Grade

Our book fair partner, READ, is sponsoring an author visit to Taylor for our 3rd-5th graders on October 17th. Katie Zhao is the author of middle grade and young adult fantasy adventures, including the Dragon Warrior series and the Winnie Zeng series.

Ms. Zhao will be autographing copies of her books for students. If you are interested in having a personal copy signed, please contact Mrs. Reilly or Ms. Toole to coordinate. If you are interested in purchasing her books through the school, please order here. Please follow the ordering instructions to provide us with information required to get your books signed and delivered. The autographed books will be distributed to students at the end of the day on October 17 or the morning of October 18.

Kidsgiving Clothing Drive- October 16th-23rd!

Taylor KidsGiving is highlighting Clothesline for Arlington Kids in October! We are hosting a clothing drive to collect fall and winter clothing for low-income school age children in Arlington. Donation bins will be available in the Taylor lobby beginning Wednesday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 23.

This is the perfect time to donate those new or excellent used & clean condition winter/cold weather clothes, especially coats and winter gear (hats, gloves, boots, etc), as we start to change out our kids' wardrobe for cooler temperatures! Sizes 4T to adult (teen styles only) are accepted. The current high need clothing donation items are winter coats, sweats and hoodies for boys, and teen shoes (adult sized 4-12 sneakers in new or excellent condition). Clothesline will also gladly accept new in package socks and underwear, which you can drop off in the donation bins as well. Say Cheese! School Picture Day is coming up on Friday, October 18th, and we’re looking for some amazing volunteers to help keep things running smoothly. This is always a fun and memorable day, and we can’t do it without YOU!

Reading Under the Stars Thursday, October 24, from 5-7pm!

We are excited for another fun evening of treats and time with friends, plus, of course, shopping for books, with special appearances from some wonderful Taylor teachers to read stories. We will also have Old Dominion Pizza here selling pizza!
